Embracing Children Humanitarian Organization

HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING

**We are pleased to be able to accept applications starting June 23rd 2008.**

The closing date for applications has been extended to July 18th.
Applications MUST be received by ECHO by July 18, 2008.

Any applications received after this date will be returned and will be
ineligible to participate in the grant recipient process.

All applications for adoptions grants will be thoroughly reviewed by the Board of Directors.
Once an application is deemed to have met all requirements, it will be placed in a pool of qualified applicants. The grant will be awarded based on a lottery selection system.

Grant Applications MUST be received by the due date.
Applications received after the due date will not be eligible for the grant.

ECHO reserves the right to refuse funding for any reason, at any time.


With every adoption application, specific criteria must be met prior to being considered for an ECHO adoption grant.

To qualify for funding the following information must be submitted and the described requirements must be met:

1. The applicant must submit proof of Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status.

2. The applicant must be approved by a licensed adoption agency or local government ministry to adopt. A letter confirming this approval must be submitted.

3. Submit a letter outlining your personal situation and detail the specific adoption expenses you need assistance with.

4. To qualify for a grant from Embracing Children Humanitarian Organization, the gross annual income of the applicant(s) must be less than in the table below. The last two years' Notice of Assessment forms issued by Canada Revenue Agency will serve to verify that you meet the income requirements.

5. A completed and signed Grant Application. (Click on link) Please note: This application is a Word document, not a fill-and-print; please print prior to input of information.

6. $35, non-refundable, Grant Application fee (cheque or money order). Please specify in the aforementioned letter (item #3 above) which adoption expense(s) you would like the grant monies to go towards. Approved grants will be issued directly to the licensed adoption agency or other service provider (airline, government agency, or orphanage).
